The Rest of the Story

And now, as Paul Harvey would say, you know “the rest of the story”.
By: Dr. Gerald B. (Jerry) Kieschnick
“In a recent email, I read about a woman named Pam, who knows all about the pain of considering abortion. More than 24 years ago, she and her husband Bob were serving as missionaries to the Philippines and praying for a fifth child.
Pam contracted amoebic dysentery, an infection of the intestine caused by a parasite found in contaminated food or drink. She went into a coma and was treated with strong antibiotics before they discovered she was pregnant.
Doctors urged her to abort the baby for her own safety and told her that the medicines had caused irreversible damage to her baby. She refused the abortion and cited her Christian faith as the reason for her hope that her son would be born without the devastating disabilities physicians predicted. Pam said, “The doctors didn’t think of it as a life, they thought of it as a mass of fetal tissue.”
While pregnant, Pam nearly lost their baby four times but refused to consider abortion. She recalled making a pledge to God with her husband: “If you will give us a son, we’ll name him Timothy.” (a biblical preacher)
Pam ultimately spent the last two months of her pregnancy in bed and eventually gave birth to a healthy baby boy August 14, 1987. Pam’s youngest son is a preacher. He preaches in prisons, makes hospital visits, and serves with his father’s ministry in the Philippines. He also plays football. Pam’s son is Tim Tebow.
The University of Florida’s star quarterback became the first sophomore in history to win college football’s highest award, the Heisman Trophy. His current role as quarterback of the Denver Broncos has provided an incredible platform for Christian witness.
Tim’s notoriety and the family’s inspiring story have given Pam numerous opportunities to speak on behalf of Women’s Owosso centers across the country. Pam Tebow believes that every little baby you save matters. I pray her tribe will increase!
May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always!

Note: It would be really great for our readers to pray for Tim Tebow. He has a lot to live up to and much pressure on him to perform physically, mentally, and spiritually.
And now the rest of this story. . . .
Carol Ann In the Kitchen
By Carol Ann
Carol and I have been friends from before George and I married. In fact, she and Dwight married before we did. That is a l-o-n-g time ago! More years than we both care to think about in terms of how time flies!
In 2006, the first dated proof of our beginning this cookbook process, Carol began the collection of recipes and ideas that she would include in the book. I began typing those recipes that she shared and we got together on phone and in person from time to time to discuss particulars.
The thing that caught my interest at first was the table full of all the delicious things she shared by having a home party once a year. She would choose some organization or person who work in non-profit situations and we all came together to share funding to help support her pick of the year. She always shared her delicious homemade, one of a kind recipes and I suggested and encouraged her to collect her favorites and combine for a cookbook.
Well, life happened to both of us, George had an almost fatal heart attack, and she was busy with family things as well. Finally I picked up the file again of what we had done and I called her one day about our working again on this book to finish it last year.
With Carol’s close friend Shirley as editor, son-in-law, Don as illustrator and others, we have all brought a wonderful book into existence.
